Do you want to get healthy and lose weight without being on some strict, fad diet?
Without obsessing over the number on the scale, counting calories, restricting whole food groups or weighing and measuring your food?
Do I hear a "hell, YES!!?"
Then look no further than your habits.
When it comes to health and weight loss, most of us are impatient. And when you're in a hurry, it's easy to get caught up in thinking that one big action or quick fix will give you the results you're after. But in reality, your habits — the small actions you repeat every day — are what actually determine your results.
How do I know? This is how I did it and this is what I teach my clients.
So whether your focus is just health or weight loss as well, you need to have a look at what you do MOST of the time. In other words, you'll need discover which habits are helping to move you towards getting you the results you want and which are sending you fast, in the opposite direction.
Otherwise you'll continue "on" or "off" those strict diets or fads that are not only difficult to follow, but aren't designed to help you get healthy OR keep weight off permanently. You'll be left feeling emotionally fatigued and worse off than before you started, because without realising what's actually happening, you'll think it's you. That you "failed" yet again, rather than realising that these diets AREN'T the solution.
So below I've shared a list of the healthy habits I use MOST of the time (you DO NOT need to do things perfectly!)
These also happen to be the habits I teach my clients.
✅ Eating when your body is hungry
✅ Eating what your body WANTS, not what you think you "should"
✅ Stopping when your body has had "enough"
✅ Planning your meals (and snacks if included)
✅ Your meals are a healthy balance of protein, carbs, vegies/salad along with some healthy fat
✅ You eat consciously
✅ You eat sitting down (including for snacks)
✅ Surfing rather than answering the urge to emotionally eat
✅ You're well hydrated (pee is a pale yellow)
✅ You don't believe everything you think (find out what I mean here, here and here)
✅ You include an activity each day that makes you feel GOOD (this can double as your exercise!)
✅ You move every day (you do some form of exercise)
✅ You're getting good quality sleep - 8 hours a night
Do any of the habits listed above stand out as something that could benefit you?
Choose one only.
